Vi IDEA Clap Snap Wrap, these three words say it all. You can clap open the Vi skate, slip it, make the flap snap down and the close the skate with the simple disc system, and the boot will be wrapped around your foot. Powerslide starts a whole new era in skating with this skate construction. Sofar existed two types of skates: hardboot- and softboot skates. A hardboot exists out of a liner that is integrated into a hardplastic shell and cuff. Whereas in softboot skates the liner is fixed to a base out of plastic. Both hardboots and softboots are closed either by a regular lacing system as used in normal sneakers, or with buckles as used for ski boots.
The Vi inline skate has a shell base that is covered by a flap out of the same material as the shell. Depending on models this can be Carbon or plastic with fibreglass. The last for this unique flap was developed by a shoemaker who is specialized in producing custom boots for inline skaters. There are numerous Vi models, of which some are actually available without cuff (speedskates). All models except for the carbon speed model, have a separate liner, which can actually be used to walk shorter distances. By the turning the disc of the closing system the flap is tightened versus the bottom and wraps around the foot like a second skin. The laces of the closing system go all around the boot , hence the foot is fixed into the boot through the 360° closing system.
Traditional lacing is completely absent in the Vi skates. Through the Vi system we achieved a comfort and support never experienced in skating before. The Vi system not only works well for fitness skates but also for high end carbon speedskates. In fact some of the World´s best speedskater are currently testing the Vi skates and very impressed by its performance. In fact the Vi skates guarantee a better performance and power transfer, and therefore one can reach higher speeds using less energy. In fact Vi will also be introduced in other segments of skating like freeskating, Nordic skating and aggressive skating.
The Vi skate is an improvement in the general quality of inline skates. The system is very userfriendly as it is very easy to handle –
simply slip in, turn the disc and skate away.
